Traffic & Transport

To make your stay as pleasant as possible, we have put together some information for you.

Airport

The hotel is located roughly 39km from the airport, which is north-east of Munich.

  • By coach: There are direct bus services from the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) to the airport at 15-minute intervals. For tickets and schedule, please visit www.airportbus-muenchen.de/en (external link).
  • By public transport: Travel time with suburban trains (S-Bahn) is approximately 45 minutes on the train itself and 60 minutes altogether (including the walk from to the hotel and the wait for the train). Line S1 (back unit of the train) and Line S8 go directly to the Airport and run approximately every 20 minutes for most of the day. The nearest stations are Marienplatz and Isartor.   • Shuttle service: Our chauffeur services start at €90, depending on the number of passengers and the vehicle category, and can be arranged by our reservations team up to 24 hours prior to your arrival. Prices include 30 minutes waiting time for your arrival. Additional costs may be incurred in the case of further delays. To arrange your transfer, please speak to our front-desk staff.
  • Taxi: A taxi ride to the airport costs between €80-€90. We will be glad to order a taxi for you. Travel time with a taxi is also around 30-45 minutes. Please contact reception (extension 95).
Boarding passes

Our reception staff will be delighted to check you in for your flight and print your boarding pass for you.

Environmental zone in Munich

If you arrive by car, please note that our hotel is situated in a ULEZ which means that you are legally required to have a green German emissions sticker on your car. Fines are possible when driving in the city zone without this approved sticker. Parking

The Deutsche Eiche has parking spaces for cars and motorbikes at an exclusive parking facility in the immediate vicinity of the main hotel building (€18 for overnight parking; a valet parking service is not available). There is usually a free space for your bicycle directly at the hotel (free of charge). Should you wish to book a parking space during your stay, please contact our reservations team.

Public transport

Railway station

The distance between the hotel and the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) is approximately 2.5km. All suburban train lines (S-Bahn) operate from Marienplatz or Isartor (the two closest S-Bahn stops) to the main railway station. Travel time to the station by S-Bahn is about 5 minutes. The nearest underground (U-Bahn) station is Fraunhoferstrasse, a five-minute walk from the hotel. This station is served by lines U1, U2, U7 and U8, all of which will get you to the main railway station (2 stops). If you wish to minimise your walking distance, the best way to reach the main railway station is by taking tram lines 16 towards Romanplatz directly from the tram stop at Reichenbachplatz (75m from the hotel). S-Bahn (Suburban services)

The closest S-Bahn stations to the hotel are Marienplatz and Isartor. Both can be reached in 8 minutes on foot. All S-Bahn lines operate from both of these stations.

Taxi

The nearest taxi stand is at Reichenbachplatz. There are almost always taxis waiting there. Should you wish to order a taxi to the hotel, our front-desk staff will be delighted to order one for you (extension 95).

Trams

The closest tram stop is located at Reichenbachplatz (a 2-minute walk). Line 16 will take you from Reichenbachplatz to the main railway station.

U-Bahn (Underground services)

The closest underground station is Fraunhoferstrasse (a 5-minute walk). Lines U1, U2, U7 and U8 run through this station and then onwards to the main railway station. The U2 also operates directly to the Munich Trade Fair (Messestadt München).
